Since ancient China, translucent objects are the elite's sought-after treasures, as well as Porcelain Ware. These unique raw materials are exclusive in Jingdezhen where the best pieces are made. Shown is a handmade porcelain vase with clear crystal-like glaze and auspicious motifs decal (invented in England and flourished between the 1850s and 1970s). In the final firing, the porcelain artisan applies a thin layer of enamel to enhance the effect in a dark environment.
